ALEXANDRO DELGADO
Alexandro Delgado, also known as bboy Clavé, is a 32-year-old dancer born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is a first generation American and a first generation college graduate. His dancing began in 2003 with quinceñeras, a coming-of-age celebration for Mexican young ladies, that led to joining Las Vegas Salsa Kids. This was a group of kids ranging from 10-18 years old that trained in Salsa, Bachata, and other Latin styles. His performance career started at the Las Vegas Salsa Congress with Las Vegas Salsa Kids and Rico 2 Mambo but stopped right before he entered high school.
He took a break from dancing to focus on graduating high school, playing baseball in high school, and getting admitted into college at UNLV where he studied Math and Education. This led to joining the professional dance team Sin City Salseros in 2009. Sin City Salseros has traveled to over 15 states and 3 countries to perform and teach workshops. With the help of Delgado, Sin City Salseros created a new style of performing Salsa dancing by incorporating other dance techniques into the Latin dance that is now the norm in the salsa community. He has also helped create the Las Vegas Salsa Bachata Super Congress and the Ultimate Latin Dance Championship, which are 2 of the biggest latin dancing events in the United States.
Around the same time of joining Sin City Salseros in 2009, Delgado found a new dance passion of Breaking. Through determination and hard work, he officially joined the nationally ranked bboy crew Battle Born in 2012. The world famous breaking crew “Battle Born” has won a number of national and international competitions with his crew including the Sup3rcrew Anniversary & World of Dance San Diego as well as winning the titles of R16 World Bboy Qualifying Champions in Seoul, South Korea & Battle of the Year USA Qualifier Champions which brought them to compete against the top teams in the world in Montpellier, France. Being on both dance teams, he has traveled and taught master workshops all over the country and parts of Europe.
In 2011 he was on the original crew when Battle Born placed 2nd in the world finals competition Battle of the Year in France. He has danced for Katy Perry, America’s Got Talent, and appeared in the hit movie “Battle Of The Year.” In March of 2019, he was one of over 300 dancers to make it through the grueling audition process and be in the Cirque Du Soleil database. Delgado was brought on to be one of the founding members of Alchemy Breaking Academy that teaches kids and adults the foundation and the culture of Breaking. With the help of all 4 instructors, Alchemy Breaking Academy is now a nationally ranked dance school that produces students that compete in the most difficult competitions and place at each event. Alchemy Breaking Academy won the prestigious award of Educators of the Year from Break Free and has 13+ students qualifying for the Olympics.
While waiting for the call from Cirque, he worked the dance scene around Las Vegas, entered battles, and taught breaking class at Alchemy Breaking Academy.
Delgado has completed his one-year contract as one of the newest specialty dancers in the Cirque Du Soleil show Michael Jackson One. Delgado is still teaching Math at a local high school during the day and teaching at Alchemy Breaking Academy while going back to the working the circuit around Las Vegas.
